Great job out there today everyone. The really hard thing that we have to deal with, being a rookie team is the inconsistent pitching machine.
It is really hard to hit off the machine when it throws out a ball at a different place each time. We understand that everyone is learning, and all the coaches are so proud of the progress being made so far by everyone!
I saw some really great plays out there tonight by everyone. However, I also saw some concerning things as well. I want to remind everyone that we are a team and we need to play like a team. Lets make sure we give each other a chance to use the skills that we have been teaching to everyone. Lets also work on our positions so that we know where we are supposed to be when the ball comes to us and where the area is that position is responsible for.
I am really impressed with the determination of those kids that are stepping up to play catcher. You are doing a great job standing up to those balls that are flying at you. Keep up the good work. If there is a position that you would like to play, let me know and I will try and get you scheduled there. I try and stay fair for everyone, bare with me if things get a little crazy. :)
I will see everyone at the game on Monday and look forward to our game against Rookie team #1.
