Cats Continue to Purrrr
Mite Girls keep impressing the coaches and fans with their solid performances and knowledge of the game!

The Cats have picked up 2 wins and a tie in weeks 3 & 4 of the 2013 season and continue to improve each outing.  The team travelled to South's home field on Monday May 27th to face the orange team in their first showdown of the year.  The DKMB girls were dominant the entire game with fantastic showing at the plate by Ashley who connected hard every time and Leah who also improved her batting average that night going 3 for 3.  Maddy was strong in field keeping the ball in front and the runners to one base.  Consistent pitching again from Alyssa and Jackie kept the South girls off the base path resulting in a 13-2 victory for the visiting team.

Mite girls met twice the week of June 3rd to take on teams from Byron and Dorchester.  The Byron match was a close fought battle resulting in a 6-6 tie.  The Delaware diamond was in perfect condition for Tracelynn and Alyssa H to show their speed on the bases keeping the Bryon girls on their toes.  Amanda called the game like a back catching pro in her first showing of the season behind the plate.  A tie was as good as a win for the team on the night they celebrated Alyssa N's 10th birthday!

Rivercats moved on the following night to cold and breezy Dorchester to see what the eastern girls had planned for the visiting Cats.  Our girls had a great showing at the plate confirming the coaches confidence in their hitting skills.  Fans were treated to 3 home runs this night compliments of Alyssa N, Ashley and Patty who chalked up 4 RBIs with her grand slam!  Regan and Avery were phenomenal behind the plate keeping the ball in front of them and sacrificing their bodies when they needed to!  The Dorchester girls were patient at the plate drawing several walks but it wasn't enough to top the Rivercat girls!  We went home with the win scoring 15 against their 12.

Your confidence at the plate and attention in the field has surpassed that of every team you've met this year.  Great work girls!
