DKMB Covid-19 Update
Submitted By Steve Rumford on Wednesday, June 10, 2020
Hello DKMB families,

Last night the DKMB board met via video conference to discuss the status of the 2020 baseball season.  We are sad to report that the difficult decision was made to cancel the season and all currently scheduled activities

Many factors came into play in making this decision including but not limited to:

- Season cancellations by surrounding associations - Most of the associations with which we compete have already indicated the cancellation of their seasons.

- Return-to-Play protocols - Baseball Ontario recently provided the draft protocols which would be required to be implemented and monitored on the local association level. Upon careful review and discussion of the protocols it was determined that proper and safe implementation would not be reasonably possible.

- Uncertainty as to when/if games would be allowed by the provincial government, and most importantly,

- Safety of all DKMB players and families.

I would like to thank all of our families for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times and can assure you that the board is already looking to late summer and fall for options to engage the kids in appropriate and safe programming.  Information will be provided regarding potential opportunities and the fall tryout process when available.

There are two options are available regarding refunds.
1.  Automatic full refund of all paid registrations for the 2020 season - No action required. All registrations will be refunded beginning June 19th unless requested otherwise.  Please do not email requesting a refund as this will slow down the process due to the volume of information to be reviewed.

2.  Carry over 2020's registration funds to the 2021 season. If you choose this option, you will not pay any registration fee increases next year.  If anyone wishes to carry over their fees to next season please email [email protected] to indicate your preference.

Again, from the DKMB board, thank you for your continued support of DKMB minor baseball and please stay safe and enjoy time with family and friends.
