2018 SOBA Rookie Provincial Tournament
Submitted By Website Administrator on Wednesday, September 05, 2018
DKMB Minor Baseball hosted the SOBA Rookie Provincial Tournament on the Labour Day weekend. Twelve rookie teams from across Ontario, including our own Rivercats team, came to play at our diamonds in Komoka, Delaware and Mount Brydges.

This year's Rivercats team played some great baseball at this tournament. After convincing wins over Belle River and Sault Ste Marie, they lost a tough game to Sudbury.

In the semi-finals, DKMB battled back and forth with a strong Collingwood team and, unfortunately, just came up short 14-12.

The Collingwood Jays then played the undefeated Sudbury Shamrocks. In another extremely close game, Sudbury prevailed 8-7 to win the SOBA provincial championship.

Congratulations to the Sudbury Shamrocks! Thank you to Baseball Ontario, all of the participating teams, parents and fans, along with the volunteers who made this tournament a success.
