As part of the annual Del-Ko-Brydge Canada Day celebrations, twenty-four rookie ball players from the three DKMB teams played in a special Canada Day split-squad game that was held at the Delaware main diamond.
Players experienced the thrill of having their names announced over the P.A. system as they assembled on the baselines for the opening ceremonies and the playing of O’Canada. Baseball was in the air as the P.A. announcer called up each batter and a large number of energetic and supportive fans cheered on the teams.
It was an exciting finish with the bases loaded in the bottom of the final inning as the Rookie #1/#2 team managed to hold on to the victory over the Rookie #2/#3 team. Congratulations to all players on a job well done!
Thank you to all of the organizers, coaches, parents, and fans for your support in making this game such a great experience for these young players.
