COVID-19 Update
Submitted By Steve Rumford on Wednesday, April 15, 2020
Hello DKMB families,

These are certainly challenging and unprecedented times. On behalf of the DKMB board I hope that everyone is safe and healthy and weathering this storm the best you can. Please be assured that the DKMB board is still meeting (virtually) and remaining in communication with the LDBA and OBA in order to ensure that we are best addressing the interests of our players and families. We are committed to the enrichment of our players and to providing a baseball season when deemed safe to do so. We will continue to take our lead from LDBA, OBA, and various levels of government to this effect. I can advise that OBA remains optimistic that there will be a baseball season and all options are being considered including a condensed schedule and/or extended season.

Please rest assured that if the season is cancelled, everyone will be provided a full registration refund or be given the opportunity to roll their fees over to next year. Our current refund schedule only applies if a season actually occurs and will be adjusted to show a May 15th deadline for full refund (this will be re-evaluated and adjusted as necessary).

As per the OBA, Coach and Umpire certification clinics are still required and have been moved to an online format. If you have registered for either of these please refer to the website for directions on how to proceed. OBA has advised they will not be providing refunds for these certification courses as they will be presented in the alternate format.

We continue to make preparations so that in the event that a late start season is authorized, we will be quickly able to get up and running. The Safe Sport Committee is currently looking at new guidelines/procedures related to issues such as handshakes, spitting, and the disinfecting of facilities and equipment. If anyone has any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to any member of the board.
