Rookie Competitive Baseball
Submitted By Steve Rumford on Friday, February 26, 2016
DKMB is actively pursuing establishing a Competitive team at the Rookie level to play several teams in the area (typically within a 1-hour drive).  A pitching machine will still be used during practices and games. Players will be expected to have a high level of commitment to this program, typically with up to two games and one practice per week. There would likely be 2 – 3 weekend tournaments during the season, with the OBA playoffs occurring on the Labour Day weekend.  Indoor tryouts and light workouts are expected to begin in the February – March timeframe.

We will continue to have Rookie teams at the Local League level as well, as per previous seasons.  With fewer practices and games than the rookie competitive team, this option is an excellent way for players to develop their skills and have fun while potentially juggling other time commitments.

In order to take advantage of either of these options for the rookie program, please register your son or daughter for the desired program through the DKMB registration website as early as possible.  If you have any questions regarding Rookie baseball, please contact Don Thody at [email protected].
